Serial number for hough h100

I'm waiting on a filter at the moment so I can change it. Is the suction strainer under a hose connection? Are the pressure test ports on the rear of the trans right next to each other? Where would be a good place to find a tech manual for this thing? Seems like it would be a good idea to get one at this point. The suction strainer should be on the side of trans at the bottom - square plate with hose in middle of it.

Remove the cable and check the valve as lever can hit in the dash and can't move the spool. Check the pressures main should be around - , convertor should be around 90 - and lube around Get the serial number and I can look in the manual at work for exact psi's.

I'm really starting to fear the worst, engagment in the forward gears is great, shifts are nice and firm, but reverse is just plain weak. I found a manual from Jensales, I just really don't like buying reprint manuals.

If you could give me a hint on how to check the pressures that would be great! A manual from Binder books will be better quality than Jensales. Ebay is a good source for OEM manuals.

Must just be something to do with id in their molds. ST and farmalldr, you fellers are good. So was Frank Hough. I've had my Huff for five years after his life on a 15, acre farm. The farmers replaced him with a CAT I don't think he is a military veteran. I'd add pictures but don't know how to copy it to here. Need to hire a tutor. Great Thanks to you guys for the tranny info and the chart!

More to come. Mountain Man. Mountain Man, Screw heads and the letter 'M'. IH used letters for the year a casting was cast. The letter "M" was used for the years and you guessed it, So, there ya go.

Page states his tranny is a Hough and the Torque Converter is a Rockford. Nice research and thanks for standin' me up straight on these. The original t-filter appeared to translate to current serial numbers. I just received it and we'll see. Photos would be fun and I'll check with Sally on how best to add them.

Take a break from all the research you've been carrying out for me! You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account.

Paste as plain text instead. Only 75 emoji are allowed. Hose should be no problem if you have any good hose shops in your area. Not sure where Mendon is, if farm country stop at any farm equipment dealer.

If they can't make it they should know who can. As for the third gear problem, first make sure transmission oil is at the right level. Most likely should be checked with engine running. Thanks for the response, I took the radiator to "Frontier" and they are now putting in a new core Snuffy2 , Feb 11, Joined: Jun 27, Messages: Location: michigan. Mine were straight frame machines. One had third and one didn't. With the straight frame --rear wheel steeryou couldn't keep the machine on the road in 3 rd.

So I didn't need 3 rd. Thanks for the response, You are correct this machine is articulated. It starts and runs OK when the coolant heater is plugged in. I took the radiator to Grand Rapids and was surprised to see so many heavy equipment places around the west end of 28th street.

Thanks for the "heads up". Snuffy2 , Feb 12, Joined: Jan 19, Messages: 36 Location: minnasota. Good morning ,Thanks for the response, The engine is a DT I picked up the radiator Friday and installed it yesterday.

Took about six hours in 20 degree barn. Not my most pleasant experience. Snuffy2 , Feb 16, Good morning, As for the transmission problem. I filled the transmission to the upper level and all three gears now work. Third gear does not seem to be attaining top speed. The manual says the top speed is around 28 mph forward and 30 mph in reverse, I seem to be getting about half that speed. One other thing that has come up is the serial number would indicate a H65E but the number on the frame says H65C, any thoughts?

Snuffy2 , Feb 18, Thanks for the response. I will take your advice on checking the clutch and converter pressure.
