How to install a g36 hop up

The Echo1 G36 series and by extension its clone s the JG, etc. Additionally, these are also plagued with equally notorious hop up chambers that are fragile and easily broken. Due to this, a lot of Echo1 G36 owners like to upgrade their hop up chambers to more durable analogues.

Here we have an excellent example of an Echo1 G36C with a CNC built hop up chamber that was presumably installed by the former owner. I am guessing this is a PPS brand or a clone based on the anodizing — but it is otherwise unmarked as to manufacturer.

The immediate thing I noticed was the air nozzle was not being allowed to complete a full forward cycle. This is due in part to two things:. G36 air nozzle with that ugly-ass spline. It should also be noted that this particular hop up chamber was a lot tighter than the stock one, and this was putting undue pressure on the spline of the air nozzle and forcing it downward at a poor angle and further exacerbating the binding issue. To solve this, the first thing to do is simply remove the spline from the air nozzle or find a replacement air nozzle of the same length that does not have a spline.

Removing the spline can be accomplished by a razor blade or sandpaper. It is best to remove the spline entirely. Wo1f - cheers, my next thought was to take some off the locating tab just so it sits "nice" Stick with maple leaf but go softer ? Not using an I key also i think that is next on the list Adolf hamster - will give twisting the barrel slightly a go hop arm looks ok just seems as tho is has todo so much to apply pressure to the rubber as its hard cheers guys.

The I key may spread the load across the hop arm better, which may fix the problem along side a softer bucking.

I was advised for that hop up rubber by elite shooting, after I said I was after accuracy over range, just seems a little ott now, they seem to have a really good reputation so didn't question what I got more of how it's fitting.

Thanks for updating. Will help anybody in the future if they have this issue. So much more hop and can easily lift 30's with plenty of extra hop available if needed. So it seems pleasingly like a brilliant test bed for upgrades. A friend has suggested hop up and barrel is a good place to start. A trip to Google suggests JG use a slightly odd hop up design that seemingly opens a minefield of failure when picking after market ones. So where should I be looking? And then this barrel length issue pops up again. Does anyone know if a mm barrel will remain safely inside the flash hider of a full size G36? Look at improving the air seal first, i.

Poor FPS usually results in poor air seal. Remember that it's just an air pump. So good air seal and silicone lube is detrimental. Once you have definitely sorted the air seal, try stepping up the spring rating, I bought a selection to experiment with to find a good spring that's within legal limits and shoots good, i.

I would suggest purchasing a set of digital calipers and using the depth prong to measure the difference in length from your original inner barrel to the end of the outer. The full size G36 flash hider can accommodate just over 5mm of extra barrel protruding.

I had same scenario when I was selecting a new barrel for my G36K Ares. Without sounding thankless I'm going to need that in English to start with. At this point I'd have no idea where to even start looking for those parts within my gun, or how to test the cylinder compression.

But they do sound like sensible ideas. So I'll investigate that. I think you need to start getting familiar with the parts inside your AEG and understand how they work. Getting familiar is the intention, I bought this cheap G36 as something to learn on before trying to fit the various mods I'd love to fit to my Scorpion.

In fairness I have been sat watching a few videos between posts and now your suggestion does make a lot more sense. I guess I just need to get that gun in pieces.
